为什么不同 Why this is different

Built around the athlete, not the itinerary.

This is not a tour with a gym stop bolted on, and it is not a training camp that happens to be abroad.

For seven days you train, eat, recover, and travel inside a working Chinese sports environment — coached in the morning, in the water or the gym in the afternoon, and out in Jiangshan's mountains and old towns when the platform is cold. You stay in one hotel, in one city, with the same nineteen other people.

The result is closer to a training block than a holiday: structured enough that you leave stronger, open enough that you leave knowing somewhere new.

训练 The Training

Train with purpose

Seven days of structured work across three disciplines, scaled to the athletes in the room.

The week is designed to progress: technical volume early, quality and intent through the middle, and a final challenge that gives the block somewhere to land. Both experienced lifters and motivated beginners are welcome — sessions are adjusted, not diluted.

举重

Weightlifting

The centre of the week — barbell work under professional coaching.

About the facilities. Sessions take place in professional sports training facilities within a high-level Chinese sports training environment. Specific venues, coaching assignments, and session structure are confirmed ahead of departure and shared with participants in writing. We describe only what has been arranged — where a detail is still being finalised, this site says so.

场馆 Our Facilities

江山 The Destination

Rivers and mountains.

Jiangshan — 江山, literally "rivers and mountains" — is a small city in Quzhou, in the south-west corner of Zhejiang province.

It is not on the standard first-time China route, which is exactly the point. What it has is a dense concentration of the things people travel for: dramatic mountain scenery, historic villages, traditional architecture, serious regional food, living cultural heritage, and open country to move through. You will be one of very few Americans there that week.

保障 Planning

Professional coaches

Training is led by professional coaching staff. Coaching assignments are confirmed with participants before departure.

Structured daily schedule

Every day has a planned shape — training, recovery, meals, and free time — issued in writing before you travel.

Hotel accommodation

Six nights at the partner hotel associated with the program. Hotel details are announced before registration opens.

Planned transportation

Local transportation is arranged for all scheduled activities and excursions during the program.

Local support team

English-speaking local staff accompany scheduled cultural experiences and excursions throughout the week.

We publish only what has actually been planned or confirmed. This site makes no medical, safety, or accreditation claims, and does not describe the program as affiliated with any national or Olympic training body. Participants should hold their own travel and medical insurance and consult a physician before beginning any training program.

常见问题 Questions

Before you apply

Who is this camp for?

The program is designed for weightlifting athletes, college and CrossFit athletes, strength-training and fitness enthusiasts, amateur athletes, and anyone interested in experiencing Chinese sports culture first-hand. You do not need to compete, and you do not need to be an elite athlete — you need to want to train.

Do I need to be an experienced weightlifter?

No. The program can accommodate different experience levels, subject to final coaching arrangements. Motivated beginners are welcome alongside experienced lifters — sessions are scaled to the athlete. Tell us your background on the application and we will be honest with you about fit.

Is airfare included?

No. International airfare is not included in any package. You book your own flights to and from China. We will share recommended arrival and departure windows after your application so you can book with confidence.

Do I need a visa to visit China?

Visa requirements depend on your nationality and current Chinese immigration rules. Participants are responsible for obtaining any required travel documents. We will provide general travel information after application. This site does not provide visa advice — please check with the relevant Chinese embassy or consulate for your situation.

How many people can join?

The first cohort is limited to 20 participants. This cap is part of the design, not a sales tactic — it is what keeps coaching ratios and group logistics workable.

Where will I stay?

At the partner hotel associated with the program, for all six nights. Exact hotel details will be announced before registration opens, and confirmed in writing before any payment is taken.

Is this a professional competition?

No. The camp challenge on Day 6 is designed as a friendly experience — a way to close out the week and see what changed — unless a formal competition is specifically announced.

Do I need to speak Chinese?

No. The program runs in English, and English-speaking local staff accompany scheduled activities and excursions. Picking up a few words during the week is encouraged, not required.

What if I have an injury or dietary requirement?

Tell us on your application. Dietary requirements are passed to the hotel and restaurants, and injury or mobility information is shared with the coaching team so sessions can be adjusted where possible. We are not a medical provider — please travel with your own insurance and consult your physician before joining a training program.

What happens if I need to cancel?

A full booking, deposit, and cancellation policy will be published before registration opens, and you will receive it in writing before any payment is taken. Submitting an application now does not commit you to anything and does not require payment.

What if the dates or details change?

The exact schedule, inclusions, and pricing may be subject to final confirmation. If anything material changes before registration, everyone who has applied is told directly — not left to notice it on the website.
